The matter of loss caused to farmers due to mining in Shahpurgopi and Gol under Halka Bhoa has reached the court. In this matter, the court has issued a notice to Punjab Government, Chief Secretary of Mining Department and DC Pathankot to investigate the matter. On the other hand, people have told about the 3 to 4 km area of the border area where illegal mining took place. The court has asked to complete the investigation in about a month. Its report has been asked to be submitted on 16 January 2025. In this investigation, it will be ascertained where mining permission has been obtained and where illegal mining has taken place. The action has been initiated on the basis of an appeal filed in the court by the farmers living in the border area as the mining mafia has started ruining the crops of the farmers. Even farmers are beaten up. Here about 20 days ago, the people of the mining mafia killed a farmer with sharp weapons in front of the police.
A person from Himachal had bought several acres of land in the Bhoa area of Pathankot. After this, they started mining there through a company.

There may be big revelations in the investigation: Joginder Pal

Former MLA Joginder Pal said that the owners of the company in Himachal have done illegal mining in large quantities in Bhoa constituency. He said that if there is a proper investigation now, the names of many big political leaders and police officers may also come out in illegal mining. He said that due to political and police collusion in the illegal mining happening here, it has become impossible to stop it. Due to this, the mining mafia has violated the rules even within five kilometers of the border. He said that it was also learned that the mining mafia has ruined the lands by mining in around 50 villages starting from Kathlour bridge.
