Importance of CTET Exam (CBSE CTET 2026 Date).
CTET is an essential step for candidates aspiring to pursue a career in teaching. This exam assesses the candidate’s teaching ability and subject knowledge. Its syllabus includes subjects like child development and pedagogy, language skills, mathematics and environmental studies. Candidates who clear CTET have the opportunity to apply for teaching posts in Kendriya Vidyalayas and other government schools. Exam date and format
CBSE has announced CTET 2026 exam date as February 8, 2026 (Sunday). This exam will be conducted offline (in pen-paper mode).

There are two papers in CTET:

Paper-I: For Class 1 to 5

Paper-II: For Class 6 to 8

Candidates can choose to sit for one or both papers. Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) for a total of 150 marks. The time allotted for each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes, and there is no negative marking. Both the papers will be conducted on the same day in different shifts.
