Belagavi (Karnataka), 26 December

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge today again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged insult of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and said that his party is not following the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Babasaheb. Will fight for honor till the last breath.
He also said in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) that people’s confidence in the electoral process is gradually diminishing as questions are being raised on the impartiality of the Election Commission. The Congress president also said that the year 2025 will be the year of strengthening the Congress organization and all the vacant posts will be filled and the concept of ‘Udaipur’ will be fully implemented.
Referring to the speech of Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha, he said, “During the discussion on the Constitution in the Parliament session, Babasaheb Dr. Heard the Home Minister’s grossly insulting statement about BR Ambedkar. We filed objections, protested, protested. Now demonstrations are taking place all over the country.
Kharge claimed that Prime Minister Modi and his government were not ready to admit their mistake and supported Amit Shah’s far-fetched but objectionable statement of apology and resignation. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of filing a false case. He said, “We will fight till the last breath for the ideology of Nehru-Gandhi and honor of Babasaheb.”
Meanwhile, Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi alleged that Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy is under threat from those in power in the country. In a letter sent to the CWC, he also urged them to reiterate their resolve to counter these forces.
The former president of the Congress could not attend the meeting and expressed his regret in the letter. -News-Patiala
