Giving information, SI Harpreet Singh of Police Station City said that the police had received information that a person was lying on the roadside near Gandhi Nagar on Raikot Road, at some distance from Police Station City of the city, whose leg was bandaged etc. . As soon as he received the information, he went to the spot and checked and found that the person was dead. When the police searched the deceased, nothing was found in his pocket which could identify the deceased.
Body kept in mortuary for 72 hours
The police took the body into custody and took it to the mortuary. He said that the body will be kept in the government hospital for 72 hours so that the deceased can be identified. If the deceased is not identified, the body will be cremated after post-mortem. He said that there were no marks of fresh injury etc. on the body of the deceased, due to which it seemed that the person might have died due to heart attack or due to cold due to sleeping on the road. The cause of death will be known in the remaining post-mortem report.
