New Delhi, 10 December
Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendra Jain has filed a defamation complaint against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, alleging that Swaraj’s comments during a TV interview have damaged his reputation. The Rose Avenue court is due to consider the application today.
Jain has accused Swaraj of making offensive statements during an interview on October 5, 2023, which was broadcast to millions of people. He has claimed that these comments made by Bansuri Swaraj were meant to defame him and take undue political advantage.
According to Jain, Swaraj falsely claimed that Rs 3 crore, 1.8 kg gold and 133 gold coins were recovered from his house. He argued that the allegations were baseless and politically motivated to tarnish his image. Jain claimed that Swaraj further defamed him by calling him ‘corrupt’ and ‘fraud’. – ANI
