Dubwali, 5th December
On the invitation of the United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, the march to Delhi has been announced for tomorrow, December 6, regarding the farmers’ demands, under which the police have set up seven permanent checkpoints and 14 temporary checkpoints on the Punjab border in Dabwali. are The threat of police blockades is not in price-seeking. A company of paramilitary forces has been deployed due to blockades on the Bathinda Road and Malot Road borders. Various security arrangements are being made by the police to prevent the farmers from moving forward. A strict blockade has also been imposed on the Bhakra canal bridge located near Khuiyan Malkana Toll Plaza on the Dabwali-Sirsa road NH9, about 14-15 km from the Punjab border.
To suppress the exodus of farmers to Delhi, Dabwali SP Siddhant Jain and Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan jointly reviewed the arrangements at Malot and Bathinda road blocks. The SP of Dabbwali issued guidelines to the employees and officials in view of the Kisan movement. Due to the deployment of police personnel in front of the underpass connecting the two parts of the city, feelings of distress are beginning to appear among the general public. It is worth mentioning that thousands of people of Dabbwali had to suffer for months during the farmers’ sit-ins on the provincial borders. The city dwellers had to cover a distance of five to six kilometers to reach from one part to another.
Dabbwali SP Siddhant Jain said that as a precautionary measure blockades have been put in place on the provincial borders under which no route is being closed. Prohibition on taking out processions, demonstrations, marching, walking with sticks, rods or weapons along with pedestrians/tractor-trolleys and other vehicles will be in force in the police district for the next 24 hours.
