A businessman was shot dead by two unidentified assailants near his house during his morning walk in East Delhi’s Shahdara on Saturday. Police officials said that Sunil Jain (52), a resident of Krishna Nagar, was shot several times and was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Jain, who ran a pottery business, was returning home on a scooty after a morning walk at the Yamuna Sports Complex when two motorcycle-borne unidentified assailants opened fire on him in Farsh Bazar area, a police official said. After the attack, the accused escaped. The official said that investigation into the matter has been started.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdra) Prashant Gautam, who visited the spot, said that the police received information about the firing at 8.36 am. According to Jain’s family members, he had no enmity with anyone and neither had he received any threats. He said that we are investigating the matter from all aspects.
