Delhi POLLUTION: The level of pollution in the national capital is the highest in the last eight years

Despite restrictions to reduce air pollution in the national capital, air pollution persists. The average level of PM 2.5 in Delhi has reached the highest level in 8 years during November. This was revealed in a report by the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), which said that despite the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan, Delhi’s average PM 2.5 level rose to 249 micrograms per cubic meter in November. is the highest since 2017. It is also to be mentioned that there has been a decline in stubble burning incidents during this period.

According to information, the average level of PM2.5 was recorded at 254 micrograms per cubic meter in November 2016. It should be mentioned that PM is 2.5 micrometers as wide as a human hair. They are so small that they can penetrate deep into the lungs and cause health problems by entering the bloodstream. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has refused to relax the restrictions imposed under the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to deal with air pollution in the national capital. The court said that the sanctions will continue until the AQI level comes down. It has to be mentioned that between October and December in Delhi-NCR, the residents of the area have to fight with air pollution.
