The executive committee meeting of Guru Nanak Dev University Pensioners’ Association was held here today in the university campus, in which the pensioners’ association demanded the Punjab government to immediately appoint a regular vice chancellor. President Amarjit Singh Bai said that due to the absence of the Vice-Chancellor, important academic and administrative work has been left pending. In the meeting Prof. Saroop Singh, Dilbagh Singh Randhawa, Vice President, Ramesh Sharma, General Secretary, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Sohal, Secretary, Surjit Singh Finance Secretary, Secretary Kuljit Singh, Joint Secretary, Members Surinderjit Singh Thind, Narinder Singh Sidhu, Sham Mohan, Tajinder Singh, Gulshan Kumar, Satwant Singh and Satpal were present.
Bai said that this is the first time in the history of the university that there is no regular vice chancellor. He said that the pensioners’ DA balance of six months should be paid immediately.
