Demonstration against Kejriwal by BJP minority front

New Delhi, December 3

Delhi Pradesh BJP’s Minority Front protested near Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal’s Feroz Shah Road residence and demanded action against his party’s MLA Naresh Kumar Yadav. Naresh Kumar Yadav has been convicted in a case of desecration of Quran in Malerkotla in Punjab. The MLA of Mehrauli was sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Malerkotla District Court of Punjab last Saturday in the 2016 case.

Addressing the protesters, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva said, “Despite the conviction of the AAP MLA on charges of desecration of the Holy Quran, Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Muslim leaders of AAP are silent. This shows the double standards of Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party. Protesters gathered on Ashoka Road and attempted to march towards former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence at 5, Feroz Shah Road. However, the police stopped them.

Malerkotla court has sentenced Naresh Yadav under various sections. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on them along with two years imprisonment. -PTI
