Demonstration against privatization of electricity department

While the opposition to the privatization of the electricity department by the UT administration is continuing from the electricity employees, parallel protests are also being made by the city residents and various social and political organizations. Accordingly, today on the 21st day, people protested in Sector 40.

Today’s protest was led by Aam Aadmi Party’s newly-appointed president Vijay Pal, vice-president and area councilor Hardeep Singh Buterla, Tarkasheel Society leader Joga Singh and Amandeep Singh Mann from Yuva Kisan Ekta. Meanwhile, a march was held which started from Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji of Sector 40 B, passed through the markets of Sector 40 and passed through residential areas and ended at the Gurdwara.

On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party President Vijay Pal said that the primary task of the governments is to do the welfare of the people and not to broker corporate institutions. The Chandigarh administration, which is planning to rob the people on the instructions of the central government, will not be allowed to succeed. He said that he will rise above the party and raise a big struggle in Chandigarh against the privatization of electricity for public interest. He has appealed to the Chandigarh Administrator and the Governor of Punjab to intervene in this matter and cancel it immediately. On this occasion, Councilor Hardeep Singh Buterla said that he will not allow the rule of private companies in Chandigarh at any cost. Comrades Inderjit Singh Grewal, Jagtar Singh Chaunta and Joga Singh, Congress Block President Rakesh Brotia also addressed the demonstration.
