Former president of Shiromani Committee Bibi Jagir Kaur has demanded strict action against present president of SGPC Harjinder Singh Dhami for the alleged insulting comments made against her. Kaur said that Dhami has disrespected the Shiromani Committee, for which he cannot be let go. The Punjab State Commission for Women had called Bibi Jagir Kaur today to hear her side. Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill said that they will take necessary action in this matter after taking legal advice. It is certain that Dhami had spoken badly about Bibi Jagir Kaur during a telephone conversation with a journalist.
After appearing before the commission, Bibi Jagir Kaur, while talking to the journalists, blasted Dhami for the insults spoken against her. Kaur said that the sentiments of the Sikh community have been hurt by these comments of Dhami, who is sitting in a position with an illustrious history. He said, “If a person who calls himself intelligent and sits on such a chair, which has a glorious history, and speaks such a language, then how much suffering will have come to humanity and the Sikh community. People have felt that this is a huge disrespect. I am deeply saddened that the post (SGPC president post) has been insulted. It is the first time in history that the President of the Shiromani Committee has appeared before the Women’s Commission instead of making insulting comments. It is their responsibility to take legal action in this matter. They will take legal action.” Keep in mind that Dhami has apologized in writing for these comments.
