The Shahkot Tehsil Committee of Dihati Mazdoor Sabha staged a dharna in the local Tehsil complex and demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party government fulfill its election promises to the workers. State President of the Sabha, Darsan Nahar, while addressing the protest, said that even after the passage of three years, the AAP government has not fulfilled even one of the promises made to the workers during the elections. The government has not taken any adequate steps to control drugs and to prevent toxic substances found in rivers, canals and waterways. Due to increasing crimes in the state, the law and order situation has worsened. Inflation has killed the workers. He said that his organization is holding dharnas in the tehsil headquarters across Punjab till December 13 regarding the burning issues of the workers to accept the demands of the workers. Even after this, if the government does not accept their demands, they will fight fiercely. He said that a political conference is being held in Malsiya on December 24, which will be organized by RMPI. Leader of Mangat Ram Pasla will address. District President Nirmal Singh Malsian demanded that women should be given Rs 1,000 per month, widows, old age, disabled and helpless children should be given Rs 2500 per pension, poor people should be given 10 marla plots each, Education Policy 2020 be rejected. On this occasion, state committee members Harbans Mattu, Sarban Kumar Billa, Vikram Mandala and Thammuwal also addressed the protest. On this occasion, a demand letter was also sent to the Punjab government.
