New Delhi- It has not even been a week since Donald Trump became the President of the United States. They are taking such decisions one after another, which are being discussed in countries all over the world. Most of the unrest is in Muslim countries. Muslims from America to Britain are shocked and disturbed by Trump’s decisions.
Indeed, during his first term, Trump’s 2017 executive order related to the entry of ‘foreign terrorists’ into the US, unofficially targeted Muslims. Now during Trump 2.0, the new president’s rod has become even tougher on this immigrant community. Trump has taken a hard line against pro-Palestinian students.
Dipa Alageson, a lawyer at the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), said the new order is worse than the unannounced travel ban imposed by Trump on several Muslim-majority countries during his first term in 2017. It was said that this is not only an attempt to prevent people from outside the US from coming here, but is also using the same arguments to drive people out of the US. After Trump’s order, there is also an atmosphere of terror in Arab countries. They fear that Islamophobia may increase.
Trump did not spare the people who came during the tenure of Biden
Trump’s new order directs US administration officials to draw up a list of countries that will have to undergo rigorous vetting before entry. The order also includes people who came to the U.S. from these countries after 2020 during Joe Biden’s tenure. The administration has been ordered to collect information about these people.
‘Respect American Culture’
Donald Trump also said in the executive order that the US administration should ensure that foreign nationals do not harbor hostile attitudes towards US citizens, its culture or government while living in the US. This includes US citizens who have recently immigrated from these countries. It was also said that these people should not advocate or help or support foreign terrorists.
‘This is a dangerous man’
On the other hand, the British Prime Minister is also in shock after the arrival of the Trump administration. Trump’s minister Elon Musk has opened a front against British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
British Pakistani taxi driver Azmat Khan told Al Jazeera that when I drive a taxi at night on the streets of London, my anxiety increases. “We have felt the heat of unrest here because of misinformation spread by right-wing groups. This is because of Elon Musk. Musk has used his social media platforms to spread outrage about a Pakistani-origin British sex offender. This man is very dangerous.” I am concerned, I have seen Muslims used as scapegoats like this before.
