Chandigarh, December 13
Rajya Sabha Member of Bharatiya Janata Party from Haryana Ram Chandra Jangra alleged that drug trend has increased in Haryana after the 2021 Kisan movement. He also alleged that around 700 women had gone missing from Haryana during the marches organized at Singhu and Tikri borders of Delhi against the three agricultural laws. “No one knows where those women went,” he said.
On the other hand, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher rejected Jangra’s comments while talking to reporters at the Shambhu border and challenged him to refer to the FIRs filed against the missing women. He said why did Jangra keep silent for so long.
After this, Jangra said that his statements were not meant to target the farmers but he was only talking about the effects of the 2021 movement.
Addressing a gathering of farmers in Mehm in Rohtak district on Thursday, Jangra said that earlier there were only two types of drug addicts in Haryana who either smoked or drank alcohol. He said, “After 2021, drugs spread in the villages. Some young people are smoking white, heroin and smack. Where did they come from?” -News-Patiala
