Dubai New Visa Rules: Indian travelers planning to go to Dubai have been troubled by the increase in visa rejections in Dubai. Recently, UAE has tightened the tourist visa rules for Dubai, due to which the number of visa rejections for Indian tourists to Dubai has increased. Earlier, 99% of visa applications were approved, but now the rejection rate has increased significantly. This change has become a cause of concern for Indian travelers.

As per the updated guidelines, hotel booking documents and return tickets will have to be uploaded on the website of the Immigration Department while applying for visa. These documents, earlier asked only by airport officials, are now mandatory.

Strict rules for Dubai visa
Hotel booking must be confirmed with QR code. Proof of return ticket will have to be uploaded on the website. Proof of residence will have to be shown for those living with relatives. Also, for a two-month visa, it is mandatory to have AED 5,000 (₹ 1.14 lakh) in the account. Now it is mandatory to upload these documents at the time of visa application itself.

Minimum Bank Balance for Dubai Visa
After strictness in Dubai’s visa application process, it will now be mandatory for Indian travelers to maintain minimum balance in bank accounts. To obtain a Dubai visa, applicants must maintain a minimum balance in their bank account, which depends on the duration of the visa. For a two-month visa, it is mandatory to have at least AED 5,000 (₹1.14 lakh) in the bank account. The minimum balance required in the bank account for a three-month visa is AED 3,000 (₹68,000).

Visa on arrival option
Indian citizens who have a visa or green card from the United States, Britain, or the European Union can obtain a 14-day visa on arrival. This visa can be extended for another 14 days.

Amid the rise in Dubai visa rejection cases, travel insurance has now become mandatory for Indian travellers. Due to which expenses like flight tickets and hotel booking can be reimbursed due to visa rejection. Losses incurred on flight and hotel bookings are covered under the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.

Travel agents say that since the implementation of the new rules, out of every 100 visa applications for Dubai, five to six are being rejected, whereas earlier this rate was only 1-2%. Even with confirmed flight tickets and hotel stay, applications are being rejected.
