The security of Goindwal Sahib, a historical town with a population of 25,000, is seen to be at stake due to the lack of police personnel in the Goindwal Sahib police station. In view of security, the Police Naka, which has been standing in the city for the past three decades, has been closed due to lack of police personnel. Due to which the local people are protesting against the police administration, due to the lack of police personnel in the police station, the night-time patrolling of the PCR team in the area has been stopped, and the incidents of theft and robbery are also increasing. It may be mentioned that the security of around half a dozen banks, ATM machines, petrol pumps and religious places in the area is at stake due to lack of police personnel. According to the townspeople, the growing prevalence of alleged drug addiction in Neemwale Mohalla is a matter of concern. Social worker Sulkhan Singh Tur said that the lack of police personnel in the Goindwal Sahib police station should be taken care of keeping the safety of the holy city as a priority. In this regard, the local police administration seems to be shirking their responsibility by referring to the lack of police personnel in the police station.

Shortage of employees will be filled: District Police Chief
District Police Chief Abhimanyu Rana said that the shortage of police personnel in Goindwal Sahib police station will be completed soon. Along with that, meaningful steps will be taken to ensure the safety of the city. He said that any anti-social elements will not be allowed to raise their heads.
