Sri Hargobindpur, 11 December

Sri Hargobindpur-Amritsar road has been approved under the National Highway Project and this road is being constructed by NHAI under the name of Amritsar to Tanda National Highway in Punjab in which part of the Amritsar side has been constructed but the constituency is in Sri Hargobindpur. The road is not being constructed in the area due to which it has become extremely difficult for the passers-by to pass through this road and the passers-by are disturbed by the dilapidated condition of the road.

Keeping in mind the heavy traffic on the road, the central government has spent crores of rupees by bringing this road under the National Highway Project, but due to the tension of the government and the farmers, this project has been put on hold and the common people are having to bear the brunt of it.

Professionals, students, bus owners, pilgrims and passers-by who pass by this road daily said that this road connects Sri Hargobindpur and nearby villages with Amritsar, Beas, Tanda, Chandigarh and many Gurdhams etc. No attention to the road. The residents of the constituency demanded from the government that on the occasion of Lohri, a fair will be celebrated at Baba Namdev Durbar in Ghuman in which devotees from all over the country will participate who will reach the Durbar only through this road, so this road should be constructed soon.
