India’s domestic cricket season began with the Dalip Trophy from Thursday. There is an East zone in front of the North Zone, while the Central Zone is facing the Northeast Zone. On the first day, North and Central Zone batting first.

The Central Zone scored 432 runs at the loss of 2 wickets till the stumps. The stumps were declared only after the 77 -over game. At the same time, North Zone scored 308 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. It started raining after 75.2 overs, due to which the game could not be ahead of the day. The second day’s game will start from 9.30 am on Friday.

The tournament is being played in zonal format this year. Six teams are participating in it. Both quarter-finals will clash with South and West Zones in the semi-finals. The final will be played from 11 to 15 September.

Mohammed Shami returned to domestic cricket after a long time.

Ayush Badoni puts fifty from North Zone On the first day, East Zone chose bowling in ground-1 of Center of Excellence. Shubman Khajuria from North Zone scored 26, captain Ankit Kumar 30, Yash Dhul 39, Nishant Sindhu 47 and Sahil Lotra scored 19 runs. Ayush Badoni imposed a fifty and brought the team close to 200.

By the end of the day’s play, wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan returned to notout after scoring 42 and Mayank Dagar 28 runs. The team has scored 308 runs losing 6 wickets. Manishi took 3 wickets from East Zone. Mohammed Shami, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal and Mukhtar Hussain got 1-1 wickets. Mukesh Kumar could not take any wicket.

Malewar returned notout after scoring 198 runs In ground-2 of the Center of Excellence in Bangalore, Northeast Zone won the toss and chose bowling. Ayush Pandey could score 3 runs from the Central Zone. Danish Malewar then along with wicketkeeper Aryan Juyal took the team to 100 runs. Aryan retired after scoring 60 runs.

Captain Rajat Patidar, who landed on number-4, batted fast. He scored 125 runs off just 96 balls and brought the team close to 350. Even after his wicket, Malewar stayed, he did not let any other wicket of the team fall along with Yash Rathore. Malewar returned to notout after scoring 198 and Yash 32 runs. Akash Kumar and Jotin Feroizam took 1–1 wickets from the Northeast Zone.

Rajat Patidar scored 125 runs off just 96 balls.

The Duleep Trophy will be given to the tournament winning team.
