Powerful Earthquake- An early morning earthquake struck Vanuatu, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean. A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean on Tuesday. The US Geological Survey (USGS) has given this information. This earthquake was so strong that people succumbed. After the earthquake, the people here have also been warned of tsunami.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake struck at a depth of 57 kilometers and was centered near Port Vila, the island nation’s largest city. It is not yet clear whether it has caused any damage or not. After the earthquake, another 5.5 magnitude earthquake was also felt at the same place.
In fact, the websites of the Vanatu government remained closed after the earthquake. The US Geological Survey has issued a tsunami warning for some of Vanuatu’s coast. Vanuatu is a group of 80 islands, home to about 330,000 people.
