The Ministry of Education has set up a panel of 9 members to test the need and fairness of the growing ‘dummy school’, coaching centers and entrance exams. Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi will be its president. He would suggest to get into higher education without coaching without students. Its purpose is to reduce the dependence of students at coaching centers.

Will detect gap in schooling system

The senior official of the Ministry of Education said, “The committee will try to identify the gaps of the schooling system, due to which the dependence of the students has increased at the coaching centers.

Also, there will be a decrease in the schooling studies and critical thinking, logical regional skills and innovation in schools.

Actually, most students depend on coaching centers for engineering entrance exams such as JEE Mains and JEE Advance, such as medical entrance exams like NEET. These students take admission in dummy schools so that classes do not have to attend and the entire focus can stay at the coaching center. Such children go directly to give board exams.

Students choosing dummy schools to take advantage of state quota

Many aspirants also take admission in dummy schools to take advantage of state quota in colleges. For example, students who do 12th from Delhi get benefit from state quota in medical colleges in Delhi. In such a situation, many children take admission in dummy schools in Delhi only.

Officials of the Ministry of Education said, ‘The reasons behind the growth of dummy schools will be ascertained. It will also be seen whether dummy schools are being erected so that instead of studying in school, students can give full time in coaching. If this is the case then work will be done on reducing it.

Assessment in schools will be investigated

This panel will also examine the assessments in schools. Also, it will be analyzed that due to the absence of the right assessment, how the students’ understanding and competitive examinations decrease. Along with this, the need for the increasing needs of higher education, lack of seats in Premier Institutes and the need for coaching centers arising out of chaos will be tested.

The panel will include CBSE Chairman, Joint Secretary of School Education and Higher Education Departments, IIT Madras, NIT Treaty, IIT Kanpur and NCERT representatives. Apart from this, principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Private schools will also be given a place in the panel.
