Effect of Punjab bandh in Ambala too

The Punjab Bandh had a significant impact today in Ambala as well. Due to non-running of trains and buses, people faced great hardship. Passengers were seen shivering in the cold. Many passengers said that buses and trains should not be stopped during the agitation. Some passengers said that they were going to Punjab for various works but now they are forced to stay in Ambala due to cancellation of trains. A huge crowd of passengers was seen at the bus stand of Ambala cantonment. Passengers said that they could not reach their destination due to non-availability of buses for the past several hours. The students who came from Lucknow said that they have come on a tour and they were supposed to go to Manali, but because the train to Chandigarh was cancelled, they are sitting at the bus stand here at 5 am.

Vijender Singh, in charge of Ambala Cantonment Bus Stand, said that due to the closure of Punjab, buses are not going to Punjab and buses coming from Delhi are stopping at Ambala bus stand due to which the passengers are facing trouble. He said that the route to Chandigarh has been diverted. Buses have been sent to Kalka, Chandigarh, Panchkula via Saha. All buses going to Punjab have been cancelled. Around 40 buses going from Ambala to Punjab remained canceled today. Due to the Punjab bandh, all national and state highways and railway tracks were closed due to which the railways canceled 163 trains including Vande Bharat.
