The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called a special general meeting in Mumbai on January 12 to elect a new secretary and treasurer. These two positions have become vacant in the BCCI after Jai Shah took oath as the International Cricket Council Chairperson while Ashish Shelar was recently sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in the Maharashtra government. According to the BCCI constitution, any vacant post must be appointed within 45 days through the SGM and this SGM will be held within 43 days. According to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee approved by the Supreme Court, no person can hold two positions at the same time. -News-Patiala
