Parag Agrawal: Parag Agarwal, a former Twitter CEO, returned to the headlines from Silicon Valley. About three years ago, Agarwal was removed from the post on the day Alan Musk acquired Twitter. Now he has made a comeback in a new style in the technology world with his own artificial intelligence company Parallel Web Systems INC. This cloud platform gives AI systems the ability to do real-time research on the Internet.
Who is Parag Agarwal
Parag Agarwal is an Indian-American software engineer who has made a special identity in the world of technology. On 29 November 2021, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsi declared pollen the next head of the company while leaving the post of CEO. But in October 2022, when Alan Musk acquired Twitter, Parag had to step down.
Parag Aggarwal, who belongs to Ajmer, Rajasthan, completed his BTech from IIT Bombay after his early studies. He then obtained a Master of Science degree from Stanford University and completed his PhD under the guidance of Professor Jennifer Windam.
When and how started?
Aggarwal laid the foundation of Parallel in 2023 and quietly prepared a team of 25 people in Palo Alto. Investors include big names like Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital and Index Ventures. In just two years, the company has raised $ 30 million (about 240 crore rupees). According to the company, Parallel’s system is completing millions of research tasks daily and its early customers are “fastest growing AI companies”.
What does Parallel do?
Simply put, it gives the AI platform applications the ability to access real-time data from the public web and include the same in its reply. For example, to give AI a browser, which not only bring the correct information but also rate verifying, organizes and the reliability of your reply. It has eight different “research engines”. The fastest engine responds in less than a minute while the most advanced engine Ultra8x can make intensive search for 30 minutes.
The company claims that Ultra8x defeated Openai’s GPT-5 by more than 10% difference in independent benchmarks and Deeprasearch Bench and this is the only AI that has performed better than both human and major AI models.
Fields of use
Parallel tools can be used in many ways:
- AI pulls codes from Github for coding assistants.
- Help retailers track competitive product catalogs.
- Convert reviews for market analyst into a systematic spreadsheet.
- Developers can use three types of APIs for this, including a low-altency option for chatbots.
From Twitter to courtroom drama and then return to coding
At the end of 2022, Agarwal was removed from his post as soon as the acquisition deal of $ 44 billion was completed, after a month’s legal battle with Musk. Despite this, instead of taking a break, he immediately started work on the new idea, sitting in the coffee shop and reading research paper and writing codes. In the initial stages, he considered the AI Healthcare venture, but eventually he stepped up towards giving AI agents a capability of reliable web research.
Now direct collision in AI race
Agrawal with Parallel is now indirectly in the competition of Musk again, this time in the race for AI. He believes that in future people will deploy 50 AI agents to work on the Internet for themselves, and this change will be seen very soon by next year.
