Elon Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink has officially started its recruitment in India. The company is taking the first major step towards expanding its operations in India. Starlink, operated under SpaceX, began its technical and safety demo runs in Mumbai this week. Along with this, the company has also started its first round of recruitment drive in the country.
“Starlink is expanding its global footprint to expand its low-latency satellite broadband service worldwide. In this regard, the company’s Indian subsidiary is hiring an Accounts Manager to oversee financial reporting and compliance,” SpaceX said in the job posting. The company also clarified that it prefers local candidates with valid work authorization for the role. Additionally, remote or hybrid work options will not be available for this role.

Additionally, according to a listing on SpaceX’s careers page, the company will be hiring for finance and accounting roles including payments manager, accounting manager, senior treasury analyst and tax manager as part of its initial hiring drive. All these roles will be based at Starling’s India operations hub in Bangalore.
Office taken in Mumbai
As per earlier information, the company has leased 1,294 sq ft office space in Mumbai’s Chandivali area for around ₹2.33 crore. The company has taken this office space on lease for a period of five years.
Additionally, reports claim that the company is planning gateway stations in nine Indian cities including Mumbai, Noida, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Lucknow. These stations will be crucial in providing satellite signals to all users in India in the future.
