Europe’s new supercomputer will compete with China-America! You have never seen such a feat of AI

Europe Supercomputer: Europe has been considered backward in the race for technology. The companies here have been able to make very little recognition globally. The same situation was also seen in the race of Artificial Intelligence, where America and China have won. But now Europe has expressed his intention to change the picture and its weapon is supercomputer Jupiter. On June 5, Europe’s fastest and first an Excascel Supercomputer was launched in Germany. The German Chancellor Frederick Merge hoped that this step could bring Europe equal to the US and China in the AI race.

New hope in AI race

According to a report by Stanford University, in 2024, the US prepared 40 big AI models, China remained limited to 15 and Europe only 3 models. In such a situation, the launch of Jupiter is being considered a big jump for Europe. During the program, Chancellor Merge admitted that there is a tough fight between the US and China in the AI region, but at the same time he also said that Europe still has a chance to move forward. According to him, it is very important to get “sovereign computing capacity” not only economic competition but also for national security.

How to make Jupiter

Jupiter has been prepared by Eviden and German Group Partec of French company ATOS ATOS. However, it has used 24,000 chips from America’s NVIDIA company, which shows that Europe is still not completely independent. This supercomputer is installed at the Julish Supercating Center and spread over an area of 3,600 square meters which is equivalent to about half a football ground.

How much strength is

Jupiter is being called Europe’s first ‘Excise’ supercomputer. It is capable of doing a quintalian (ie one billion) calculation every second. America currently has three such supercomputers. Jupiter is about 20 times more powerful than any existing German computer. It costs around 500 million euros (about 580 million dollars) which Germany and European Unions are funding together.

Use is also ahead of AI

Supercomputer Jupiter will not only be used for AI model training but also will also make accurate prediction of climate change through it. Scientists believe that while the existing systems are able to give only 10 years of climate forecast, with the help of Jupiter, it will be possible to predict for 30 to 100 years. Apart from this, it will intensify research on diseases like Alzheimer’s by simulation of brain processes and will also improve clean energy solutions like wind energy.
