Faculty Development Program started in Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College

A week-long International Faculty Development Program on the theme ‘Regenerative Design – Transcending Sustainability’ began at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. The program was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and GNDEC School of Architecture in collaboration with Blue Planet, Kolkata. Head of Civil Engineering Department Dr. Jagbir Singh enlightened about the technical sessions. He said that experts participating in the program will give information on circular design thinking, bio-climatic design, living systems and regenerative thinking and sustainable development topics. The program was inaugurated by DC Jitinder Jorwal, Principal Dr. Sahajapal Singh, NSET Director Inderpal Singh, CEO Blue Planet Sangita Kapoor, Senior Town Planner Naval Kishore, Punjab and Sindh Bank Zonal Manager Shilpa Sinha and Principal Architect, Designex, Ludhiana Sanjay Goyal, Heads of Departments and Deans of GNDEC did. On this occasion, Mr. Jorwal emphasized the need to provide availability, accessibility and capacity to the public projects being prepared by the technocrats. Naval Kishore shared information about the current status of city planning. The FDP sessions were led by Sangeeta Kapoor from Blue Planet with international experts Craig Griffiths, Laurent Fournier, Nuno Dr. National expert architects including Silva and Dennis DeLuca. Done by Rajpal Singh and Architect Sanjay Prakash. The workshop also included practical activities and team based exercises to give the participants an overview of the assigned topic. Akanksha Sharma, head of the GNDEC School of Architecture, emphasized the importance of sustainability in design.
