So let me tell you… Last Thursday, a big encounter took place in Gujarat, a neighboring province of Pakistan. At least four people, namely an alleged drug dealer, also a proclaimed offender, and his nephew and two accomplices were killed in a ‘encounter’ with the police that lasted for at least 14 hours in Hanj village of Kakrali police station here.
The main suspect, Faisal Shehzad, was a big drug dealer who also had a lot of money in the area. We all know that the drug trafficker cannot spread the drug empire without any political influence. Everything was going well until Faisal made a big mistake. Just as there are special task forces or other special forces in India, in the same way there is an elite force in Pakistan. In an alleged encounter, Faisal was accused of killing an officer of Pakistan’s elite force and injuring another. Just after this incident, Faisal became the target of the Pakistani elite force.
Hundreds of rounds and dozens of tear gas shells and grenades were used in the encounter that began on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, and lasted until 7 am on Thursday, December 19. So far that the Pakistan Elite Force had to be brought to the helicopter in Hanj village. After an 18-hour long police encounter, as soon as the firing stopped, the police found four dead bodies in the house, identified as Faisal, his 20-year-old nephew Safiur Rahman and two accomplices Naveed Akhtar (24) of Khawaspur and Nomi (30).
According to the information received from the police, a team led by Mutabal DSP had reached Hanj village to trace Faisal Shahzad. As soon as they started demolishing the front wall of his house with machinery, Faisal and his accomplices opened fire from inside. The police also retaliated and another contingent of police arrived as backup while heavy firing continued till Thursday morning.
The police sent the dead bodies to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital for post-mortem. Gujarat District Police Officer Mustansar Atma Bajwa and SP Riaz Ahmed Naz led the police operation. It was learned that the police had destroyed the structure of Faisal’s two outhouses in the same village earlier. It is being told that the police were not expected to be present in Faisal’s newly built concrete house.
The police only went to demolish his house, when the police started the operation, Faizal Hanj started firing from inside. The police had to ask for back-up from the elite force.
After the encounter, Rahmaniya Police Station SHO Haji Sagir Ahmad Bhadar issued a media report claiming that the police had retaliated against a police officer, adding that anyone who tried to kill the officer would be dealt with. .
