In Faridkot, Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan expressed concern about the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal. He said that the Central Government should convince Dallewal to end his hunger strike and fulfill his demands through meaningful talks.

The speaker said that despite being a cancer patient, farmer leader Dallewal is on a fast to get his demands met by the Centre. The Central Government should hold meaningful talks with them and the demands of the farmers, including legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) and implementation of the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission, should be resolved quickly.
Farmers’ demands justified
He also appealed to the farmer organizations to adopt a constructive approach to break the deadlock and find a meaningful solution to the ongoing protests. Speaker Sandhwan said that the demands of the farmers are legitimate, which need immediate attention.
