A group of shopkeepers of the Main Bazaar in Faridkot have decided to express their anger against the Central Government by keeping their shops closed on Monday, December 30, in support of the Punjab Bandh being organized by farmer organizations.

Under the leadership of the non-political United Kisan Morcha, the front has been going on for the last 10 months at the Khanauri border of Punjab and Haryana regarding the demands of the farmers. Where farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal is also sitting on an indefinite hunger strike for the last 35 days. The Morcha has called for a Punjab Bandh on Monday, December 30, which has also been supported by business organizations in Faridkot.

A day earlier, Sadiq Town Trade Board had also announced to keep their shops closed in support of the bandh and on Sunday, the shopkeepers of the main market of Faridkot also came out in favor of the farmers. Textile Association President Bhushan Kumar and General Merchant Association’s Praveen Chawla said that they are standing with the farmers and will provide all kinds of support in their struggle.
