Faridkot District Police of Punjab is running a special campaign against drug abuse under the leadership of DGP Gaurav Yadav IPS, DIG Faridkot Range Ashwini Kapoor, SSP Dr. Pragya Jain. Under this campaign, Faridkot Police has taken action against drug smugglers during the last 04 months.

Under the same series, on Wednesday, under the supervision of District Level Drug Disposal Committee including SSP Dr. Pragya Jain, a huge consignment of drugs, 2.131 kg 134 mg heroin, 78 kg 900 grams, was recovered in total 56 cases of NDPS Act in SAIL Limited Power Plant, Shedha Singh Wala. Sawdust of poppy, 33732 intoxicating pills, 16 kg 300 grams of poppy plants, 14 kg Destroyed 800 grams of ganja and 05 grams of ice.

Police engaged in efforts to end drug addiction: SSP
SSP Dr. Pragya Jain said that Faridkot police is making continuous efforts to eliminate drug addiction. Under which Faridkot Police has recently destroyed the drugs recovered under the NDPS Act. Also, Faridkot police is taking action to identify and confiscate the properties of the accused involved in drug smuggling. Apart from this, meetings and seminars are being organized in villages and cities to make the youth aware about the ill effects of drugs.
Appeal to give information about smugglers
Faridkot Police appeals to the people that if someone sells drugs around them, they should immediately inform the Faridkot Police so that strict action can be taken against the drug smugglers. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
