Rajinder Singh Marahar Bhakta Bhai, 4th January A bus of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta (Ugrahan) going to join the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Tohana (Haryana) from village Kotha Guru crashed on the Bathinda-Barnala highway this morning due to dense fog. All the three farmer women who died in the accident were closely associated with the peasant struggle for a long time. Three farmer wives died on the spot, while 32 farmers and wives were seriously injured. He said that all the three women belonged to simple peasant families. Meanwhile, senior leaders of BKU (Ugrahan) Shingara Singh Mann, Basant Singh Kotha Guru, Jaspal Singh Pala and state president of Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union Zora Singh Nasrali demanded that the Punjab government should give 10 lakhs to the heirs of the deceased women farmers.
