Farmer Protest: Farmers announced to stop trains on December 18 across Punjab

Shambhu, 14 December

Farmers have announced to stop trains across Punjab. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that on December 18, trains will be stopped from 12 noon to 3 pm and after that the next strategy will be drawn up.

Talking to ANI, Sarwan Singh Pandher said that both the parties (BJP and opposition) are not raising farmers’ issues in Parliament. BJP wants to eliminate farmers. The voice of farmers is reaching 140 crore people of the country but not reaching the Prime Minister. They want whole India to be united on this issue. Mr. Pandher said that the Haryana Police is misleading the people. Can 100 farmers on foot be dangerous for the country?

Bajrang Punia, a wrestler who was also present at the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border, said in a conversation, ‘On the one hand the government is saying that we are not stopping the farmers, but on the other hand they are stopping the farmers. Tear gas and batons are being fired as if it is Pakistan’s border.

Pandher said that when other leaders go to protest in Delhi, do they take permission? Farmers just want minimum support price for their crops.
