Patiala, 9 December
Farmer Protest: After the meeting held a day ago between the Haryana officials and the farmers, where the farmers did not send any procession to Delhi today, the farmers will not march to Delhi on December 10 either. This information was given today by the farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher who is leading the front at Shambhu border.
They say that the Haryana authorities had asked for a one-day moratorium, due to which the procession was not dispatched today. They said that after this, they will hold a meeting with all the farmers’ leaders and decide the next strategy, by which the farmers will not send their procession to Delhi even on December 10.
Meanwhile Sarwan Singh Pandher, taking a dig at the central government, said that this government itself is ‘confused’, because one of its ministers says that the farmers can go and the other minister says that the farmers will not be allowed to go. Therefore, first the ministers should agree among themselves what to say. He also said that the Prime Minister is coming to Haryana today and he must comment on the issue of farmers.

It is to be noted that earlier the farmer leaders had announced to send 101 groups of farmers to Delhi in a phased manner from December 6, but on December 6, the Haryana Police did not allow the groups of farmers to cross the Shambhu border and strictly stopped them. On this occasion tear gas shells were fired at the gathering and allegedly other forms of force were used.
After this, on December 8, a group of 101 farmers again tried to leave Delhi, but this attempt was also severely thwarted by the Haryana Police. After this, the farmers had already announced not to send any procession today, especially in view of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Haryana.
