New Delhi, December 2

The farmers of Uttar Pradesh took out a protest march towards the national capital today due to the non-resolution of the agricultural issues. In view of this, the police barricaded and deployed a large number of security forces due to which the common people faced problems on the Delhi-Noida border. Meanwhile, the farmers clashed with the police but the police did not let them go further. Farmers are protesting that their issues are not being resolved for a long time due to which farmers are going through economic crisis.

The farmers assembled at the Mahamaya flyover on the Dadri-Noida link road and started their march around 11.30 am demanding increased compensation for their lands acquired by the government and other farmers’ issues. The protest march was called by the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP). According to BKP, farmers from 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Aligarh and Agra, participated in the protest march.

On this occasion, the farmers breached the barricades and some climbed on the barricades. In the meantime, they clashed with the police. The police stopped the farmers even before they entered Delhi. Senior police officials tried to pacify the protesting farmers.
