On the call of the United Kisan Morcha, the farmers associated with various farmers’ organizations demonstrated in the pouring rain to fulfill their demands and handed over a demand letter to the administrative officials in the name of the President. Meanwhile, the farmers raised slogans against the central and state governments. Addressing the farmers outside the Mini Secretariat, Kisan Sabha leader Ka. Suwaran Singh Virak said that the government is ignoring the demands of the farmers. He said that at the time of postponement of the Delhi Kisan Andolan on 9 December 2021, the central government had promised to fulfill the demands of the farmers’ leaders, which has not been fulfilled till date. Farmers are once again being forced to put up a firm front on the border of Khanuri and Shambhu due to the farmers’ demands not being met. Reiterating the demand for fulfillment of promises, he demanded guarantee law for minimum support price for crops and complete debt relief of farm labourers. Meanwhile, he appealed to the central government to fulfill the demands of farmers to save the life of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.
Farmers call for mobilization against corporates
Fazilka (Paramjit Singh): According to the invitation of the United Kisan Morche, SKM Fazilka reached in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in thousands of protest against the central government. Speaking on this occasion, the farmer leaders said that the central government is oppressing the farmers in Sambhu, Khanuri marches for farmers’ demands and the Modi government has crossed the limits of shamelessness by re-sending the marketing policy draft to the state governments and rescinding the earlier repealed laws. is going to be implemented which is highly condemnable. On this occasion the leaders said that the central government is issuing new decrees daily by creating pro-corporate policies under which the new agricultural marketing policy will be implemented. The draft has been sent to the state governments as a way to indirectly implement the three black farm laws. If the government does not withdraw this draft despite this, then the struggle will be intensified by massive mobilization in Punjab and the entire country.
