Farmers Protest: A case of farmers going to Bathinda to protest against the Gujarat gas pipeline has come to light in Mansa with the police. It may be mentioned that the police had set up a blockade in Mansa to stop the farmers, due to which the dispute increased there. During the baton charge by the police, the farmers also allegedly attacked the police. Many police officers and farmers were injured during the clash. Meanwhile, many vehicles have also been vandalized.
According to the information, the farmers of Sangrur district were going to protest against the Gujarat gas pipeline at Leleana village of Bathinda at 3:00 am today. A blockade was set up by the police in Mansa to prevent the farmers from going further. When the police tried to stop the farmers, the conflict escalated to such an extent that the police had to resort to lathi charge.
In the clash between the farmers and the police, the SHO of Bhikhi, the SHO of Thana City, Mansa, Budhlada and Mansa Sadar were injured and many other employees were also injured. On the other hand, there is also news of some farmers being injured, who have been admitted to the Civil Hospital of Mansa. At present the situation is under control but currently no police officer or farmer leader has come forward to give information about the incident.
