DC Dr. Sona giving thin information
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Sona Thind, in exercise of her powers under Section 53 of the Punjab Excise Act 1914, banned the sale of liquor within a radius of three kilometers of Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurudwara Sri Jyoti Sarup Sahib.

Apart from this, a ban has been imposed on the consumption of liquor in liquor shops and premises, hotels etc. in Anaj Mandi Sirhind, Sanipur Road, GT Road Bada, Chawla Chowk Sirhind, Railway Road Sirhind, Railway Road Hamayupur, Bhatti Road Sirhind and Khanpur area. In these areas, no person will come from outside even after consuming alcohol. These orders were issued regarding the martyrdom meeting starting on 25th December. The orders will remain in force till 12 midnight on 27th December.
Strict instructions to police and excise officers
The Deputy Commissioner has fixed the responsibility of the District Police Chief and Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner to strictly implement these orders. In the restriction orders issued, it has been said that lakhs of devotees from India and abroad participate in the martyrdom gathering to be held in Fatehgarh Sahib from December 25 to December 27. This restriction has been imposed to maintain the sanctity of the atmosphere of the martyrdom meeting.
