The three-day Pulse Polio campaign in Fazilka district of Punjab was started on Sunday by SMO Dr. Neerja Gupta and Dr. Dharamveer Arora by administering medicine to the children. After this, all the teams were sent to the booths, where from morning to afternoon, 9277 people remained at 77 booths.

Target to administer medicine to 20150 children
SMO said that as part of the campaign, medicines were administered at the booths on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, health workers will go door to door and administer medicines to children. He said that under the campaign, a target has been set to administer medicines to 20150 children of 29476 houses in the city. Out of which 9277 children have taken the medicine at the booths, while the remaining children will now be given medicine by going door to door.
308 employees put on duty
He said that in this campaign, 308 employees have been put on duty under the leadership of 15 supervisors. Apart from this, apart from Sardar Patel, Meera Medical and Sachkhand School, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers also contributed. Under the campaign, high risk areas including slums of the city are also to be covered. For this, 1 team has been deployed at the railway station and 2 teams have also been deployed at the bus stand. If a child is deprived of polio medicine, his family members can come to the PP unit and give him the medicine.

Officials expressed satisfaction
He appealed to the people to give medicine to their children aged between 0 to five years, no matter how many times the child has taken the medicine before. He said that even if the child is sick, this medicine must be given. There will be no harm from this medicine. On the other hand, District Nodal Officer Dr. Sandeep Khosa and WHO Officer Dr. Gurmel Singh inspected the Pulse Polio campaign and expressed satisfaction with the work.
