Goods destroyed due to fire in Muktsar
A house caught fire today due to short circuit in Giddarbaha of Muktsar district of Punjab. Due to which goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the house were burnt and destroyed. Fire personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

Paramjit Kaur, wife of Vinod Kumar, resident of Thakur Mohalla of Giddarbaha, told that he works as a labourer. Even today, he and his family members had gone to the market to work when they came to know that their house had caught fire. When he reached home, he saw that all the household items in the house were burnt to ashes. Due to the fire, boxes, cupboards, beds, sofas, fridges, LCDs and other essential items, along with cash worth Rs 9,000 were also burnt.
He told that he has suffered a financial loss of lakhs of rupees in this arson incident. Their only living room has also been damaged due to the impact of the fire, which could collapse at any time. The victim’s family has demanded financial help from the government and administration to compensate for the loss caused by the fire.
