Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that the construction of this road will benefit the residents of the region as well as the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. He said that this road will cost Rs 6.45 crore and the width of this 9.25 km long road will be increased to 18 feet. This will benefit the motorists. The said road will be constructed by the Punjab Mandi Board and this tender has also been allotted. MLA Naresh Puri said that due to the construction work of Shahpurkandi canal and 2 power houses on the side of the said road, the condition of the road had become very bad and due to the shortness of the road, people had to face huge problems while passing. Tourists and other people go to Jammu and Kashmir from places like Ranjit Sagar Dam and Dalhousie through this road. That is why this road will be made wider.
