Patna, January 5
Prashant Kishore, the founder of the Jan Swaraj Party, who is on a fast to death at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, has sought the support of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav over the demand to cancel the Bihar Public Service Commission examination. Speaking to reporters on the fourth day of his fast to death, Kishore said, “I want to tell people that this movement is non-political and is not taking place under the banner of my party. Last night the youth formed a 51-member committee called ‘Yuva Satyagraha Samiti’; which will take over this movement, of which Prashant Kishore is a part. Rahul Gandhi, who has 100 MPs, and Tejashwi Yadav, who has more than 70 MLAs, are welcome to extend their support.” Kishore said, “These leaders are much bigger than us. They can gather five lakh people at Gandhi Maidan… and that is the time. The future of the youth is at stake. We are facing a ruthless Nizam, who has ordered lathicharge 87 times in the last three years.” News-Patiala
