The people of around half a dozen villages situated on the banks of the Sirsa river are facing severe problems for transportation. The BBMB department has closed the Bhakra canal bridge for heavy vehicles for a long time, due to which the residents of Majri Gujran, Kotbala, Aspur, Awankot Upper, Awankot Lower etc. villages have to travel a long distance to reach the national highway. . According to the information received, there was a wedding of two girls in village Majri Gujran today, during which some party and band party of a barat were coming in a bus. When they reached the Bhakra canal bridge near the Sirsa river, the bus could not cross the Bhakra canal bridge due to the restrictions of the department. Due to this, the band party and some brides had to walk about one and a half kilometers to reach the wedding ceremony. By then, the girls had started cutting the ribbon from the groom and serving tea and water to the barat.
