What is the treatment of glaucoma?

Dr. Aditi Dusaj says that in the treatment of glucoma, the pressure inside the eyes is reduced so that the disease does not increase further. For this, doctors can give treatment according to the condition of the patient.

Eye drops and medicines- These drugs help reduce eye pressure. If someone’s eye pressure is more than normal, then glaucoma can be prevented from growing with the help of these drugs.

Surgery- If the medicines are not benefiting, then doctors can advise surgery. In this, the liquid deposited inside the eyes is taken out. For this, trabecuctomy, tube shunt surgery, laser therapy and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery can be done.

What to do to prevent glaucoma?

Dr. Aditi Dusaj says that glucoma cannot be completely stopped, but by taking some precautions, its risk can be reduced and it can be controlled in time.

Get the eye check regularly- Especially if you are more than 40 years old or someone in the family is glucoma, then get the eyes tested every year.

Avoid eye injury- Any accident or injury may increase eye pressure, which increases the risk of glaucoma.
