According to reports, BSNL customers will start getting 5G service by the end of the year. For this, the company has also started trials in many cities. The government company has installed one lakh 4G towers across the country and is now planning to install one lakh more towers.
5G pilot project has been completed
According to media reports, BSNL Principal General Manager Vivek Dua said that the 5G pilot project has been completed. The company’s 4G network is completely ready for 5G and can be upgraded to 5G once the trials are completed. Trials are going on now and 5G service will be rolled out soon. Let us tell you that the entire network of BSNL is based on indigenous technology, which has been developed in collaboration with TCS and Tejas network.
BSNL added more customers than Airtel in August
BSNL has overtaken Airtel in terms of adding new customers in August. After about a year, there has been a rapid increase in the number of customers of the government company. According to telecom regulator TRAI, 13.85 lakh new mobile customers were added to BSNL in August, while only 4.96 lakh new customers were added to Airtel. BSNL had added the maximum number of customers in September last year, beating all the companies. At that time private companies had increased the recharge prices. Due to this, a large number of customers left private companies and joined BSNL.
