According to the CERT-in report, many technical weaknesses have been found in the old verses of Google Chrome. These weaknesses are especially in the verses that are older than 141.0.7390.54 for Linux and 141.0.7390.54/55 for Windows and Macos.
These bugs include problems such as the webgpu and video sections in the Data Buffer Overflow, Storage and Tab Module, and wrong implementation in Media and Drmbox. Taking advantage of these flaws, any cyber -attacker can send the user to a malicious website and get control of its system and reach private information.
Similarly, many serious security loopholes have been found in the old verses of Mozilla Firefox. Users who have a Firefox version below 143.0.3 or have an older version on iOS have been advised to update immediately.
In these verses, there are weaknesses like cookie storage isolation, integer overflow in Graphics Canvas2D, and Jit Miscompilation in JavaScript Engine. If a user clicks on a massive website or fake link, then hackers can access saved passwords, banking information or other private data in its browser.
The government has kept both these cases in high-risk category. CERT-in clearly stated that users should install the latest security patches of both Chrome and Firefox immediately. Google and Mozilla have released their updates to remove these weaknesses. If you want to make sure that your system is safe, then you can go to the official website of CERT-in and see complete information about these vulnerability and safety links.
In simple words, if you have not updated your browser yet, then your online security is in danger. So don’t delay, update both Chrome and Firefox now and keep your data safe from cyber attack.
