Tech company Google has fired its 100 employees. According to CNBC report, the company has cut rolls mainly with design.
Google is now rapidly adding generative AI to its search results, there have been many changes in the rolls related to the old user interface and experience design.
The company has done this to do this on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and to automate the design process.
This step is part of Google’s restructuring policy. The company believes that after the arrival of AI, a new skill set is needed, due to which the old rolls are being abolished.
Pichai recently said that the company’s non -essential expenses were reduced.
‘AI-Fund’ Vision of Sundar Pichai
Google CEO Sundar Pichai had already indicated that the company would make major changes giving priority to AI. This trimming is part of the same ‘AI-Fund’ strategy.
Pichai had recently talked about increasing functionality within the company and reducing non -essential expenses. Their emphasis is that Google should now focus on core AI products and service, which will speed up the growth of the company in future.
Google cut 12,000 jobs in January 2022
In the last two years, Google has taken several steps to increase efficiency. Earlier in September 2022, Pichai said that they want Google to become 20% more efficient. After this, in January 2022, Google cut 12,000 jobs.
Google has now taken the step of trimming again due to its Openai like AI competitions, which are bringing new products. These products can affect Google’s search business.
In May 2024, Google cut 200 jobs from the core team
Apart from this, in Wednesday’s meeting, Pichai stated the meaning of the word ‘Googlyness’ and said that modern Google requires employees to update. According to reports, Google cut 200 jobs from its core team as a part of the cost cut for restructuring process in May 2024. Apart from this, some jobs were transferred abroad.
