Govt employees will get 42 days additional leave, latest order issued

If you do government job (Central Government employees) then there is good news for you. You can get 42 days leave. First, you need to have a central employee. Central government employees will get 42 days leave for organ donation. The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTO) has given this information.

According to the news of Times of India, Chief of National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization Dr. Anil Kumar said that the Personnel and Training Department has already issued orders in this regard. “We have recently uploaded the orders on our website for wide dissemination and awareness.”

Actually removing an organ from a donor is a major surgery. Healing takes time. This includes both the period of hospitalization and the period after hospital discharge. The government has decided to grant a maximum of 42 days of special leave to central government employees who decide to donate organs as a ‘special welfare measure’, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order said.

What is said in the order?
It said that the rule of 42 days leave will be applicable for any type of surgery to remove the donor organ. The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization recently uploaded this order on its website. This order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in 2023 itself. The order said, ‘Special CL will normally be taken at once from the day of admission to the hospital. However, if required, it may be available up to one week prior to surgery on the recommendation of a Government Registered Medical Practitioner or Doctor.
