Guldaudi show started in PAU

PAU The two-day Guldaudi show jointly organized by the Department of Floriculture and Landscaping and Estate Organization in memory of Bhai Vir Singh started today. On the first day, a large number of flower lovers took selfies with flowers and enjoyed the beauty of nature. The inauguration of this show was attended by the Vice Chancellor of PAU as the chief guest. Satbir Singh Gosal did. Former Professor of Floriculture Dr. APS Gill, former head Dr. JS Arora and Dr. Ramesh Kumar was present at the inaugural function as the special guest.

Head of Floriculture and Landscaping Department and organizer of the show Dr. Parminder Singh said that more than 2,200 bouquets of more than 150 different varieties are presenting a unique sight during the show. Apart from this, around 250 entries were registered for the competitions. He said that 20 types of flowers have also been kept for sale while about 25 stalls are selling goods related to flower cultivation. Dr. Parminder Singh said that the main objective of this show is to inspire people to grow chrysanthemum flowers for landscape use and commercial farming.

The chief guest of the show is VC Dr. Gosal said that this flower show has become a special identity of PAU. It is a very auspicious omen to associate this show with the father of modern Punjabi poetry, Bhai Veer Singh, and remember his literary contribution. Dr. Gosal said that the flower competitions conducted during the show are also a special attraction. He congratulated the participants in the competitions. The flower rangolis created by the students on the occasion of this Guldaudi show captivated the audience.
