Punjab Weather: From today to December 26, 2024, heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers is likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at few places over Rayalaseema till December 25. Rain is also likely in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. Apart from this, lightning may fall in some places on December 25 and 26. On December 27, there is a possibility of thunderstorm along with hailstorm in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
Severe cold is expected in some parts of Himachal Pradesh till December 26. There is a possibility of cold wave in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad during December 24 to 26. There is a cold wave alert in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh till 25th.
The minimum temperature has dropped below 2 degrees Celsius in the plains of northwest India except Uttar Pradesh, where the temperature is likely to increase by about 3 degrees Celsius during the next 2 days and after December 26. There will be no significant change in it.
Thereafter, the minimum temperature is likely to increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius over the plains of northwest India during December 27 and 28. The minimum temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over central India and Maharashtra during the next 5 days.
The Western Disturbance forms a cyclonic circulation at the lower and middle tropospheric levels over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. A low pressure area has formed over northwest Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely at isolated places over the Western Himalayan region on 24 December 2024.
